Privacy Policy

BingeTheHolidays is a free guide to holiday shows and movies. This page explains what we collect and what we do with it. We keep it short because there is not much to say.

If you do not make an account

You can use the whole guide without an account. Your watch list and favorites are saved in your own browser on your own device. We never receive them.

If you make an account

An account lets you keep your lists on more than one device. You can create one in either of two ways:

• Email and password. We store your email address and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password. We never store the password itself, so nobody, including us, can read it.
• Sign in with Google. We store your email address and your Google account ID, which is how we recognize you next time. We do not store a password, your name, your photo, or anything else from your Google account, and we cannot see your Google password.

Besides your email and sign-in details, we store your saved lists (your watch list and favorites) so they can follow you from device to device. To limit repeated guessing, we also keep short-lived counters of sign-in attempts tied to a scrambled version of your IP address, which are deleted automatically after a short time. That is all we store about you.

How we use it

Only to sign you in, keep your lists in sync, and email you a password reset link when you ask for one. We do not send marketing email. We do not sell or share your information, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Cookies

When you sign in we set one cookie that keeps you signed in on that browser. It is needed for the account to work, and it is removed when you sign out. If you do not sign out, it expires after 60 days. The only other cookie is the one described under "Merch vote" below.

Who handles the data

The site and its database are hosted by Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare may log basic technical information such as IP address for security and performance. Sign in with Google is provided by Google, which handles that step under its own privacy policy. Password reset emails are sent through Cloudflare. Links to other sites (networks, streaming services, IMDb and so on) are governed by those sites' own policies.

Merch vote

If you vote on the merch page, we save your picks with one random cookie in your browser (kept for 90 days). It does not contain your name or email, and you do not need an account to vote. We store the cookie in scrambled form, with the items you picked, and we count the votes. We cannot tell who you are from a vote.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time. Sign in, open the Account panel, and choose "Delete my account." This permanently removes your email, your sign-in details and your saved lists from our database. If you would rather not sign in, you can email us at the address below from the email address on your account. We will reply to that address to confirm the request, and we delete the account only after you confirm. We will never ask for your password.

Children

This site is a general guide to holiday shows and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. If we ever need to collect more than what is described here, we will update this page first.
